What is the difference between "user" and "employee"?
- employee: role of someone in data collection, ie who needs to register his workingtime.
- user: is a login account to the system.
It can be a real person, or it can be an account for a terminal where several employees do registrations.
Example: You could have 1 login account "pc" and 10 employees registering their jobs on this one computer - that is logged in with that account.
So you make 1 "user login account", called "pc". Of course you need to make employee entries for every employee that needs to register his/her time.

If you have computer workers with their own pc's you can make the user accounts the same as the employee, just to make it simple to manage.
Therefore you have to tell the system that the user account and the employee belong together, by making a common group for it.

If I only have one login account "pc", how can 5 people register their time?
- Make 5 employees (see howto, make new employee).
- They select their own name on the screen and push the registration button.

Logged in but no employee available in drop down list of time registration
- check user: does user exist? (should be to be able to log in)
- in "Time Registration" you can enter the employee code under "Select Employee", even if not in drop down list. The full name will be displayed after select.

Logged in but no employee available in drop down list of time registration: how to get employee there?
- login with management account, choose user management, select user, check the group: choose group from drop down list
- go to "Employee Management", Add employee to a department(group); employee will show up in all these departments lists.

I want to access my data (to safely read it) from within another application / the command line
- create an extra MySQL user (if not existing yet), called "noxqs_ro" (Read Only), and give him only the right to "select".
- You can login to MySQL with this user, or use this login in your other application.
